The Transportation Club of Jacksonville is proud to welcome Kevin Elrod as our guest speaker for the June luncheon.
Kevin Elrod is a decorated U.S. Army veteran with 27 years of distinguished service as an Airborne Infantryman and Drill Sergeant, including multiple combat deployments. Born into the trucking industry, his father owned and operated a small fleet in North Georgia. Kevin learned to drive a tractor-trailer at a young age and has remained immersed in commercial transportation throughout his life.
With the exception of his military service, Kevin has worked across every level of the industry, from commercial driver to Safety Director for a 500-unit fleet, and later as a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Safety Investigator. He is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in Hours of Service (HOS), crash analysis, and regulatory enforcement. His leadership roles include serving as Chair of the FMCSA’s Intermodal Equipment Provider Technical Advisory Group and Team Lead for the FMCSA Southern Region’s Intermodal Inspection Team. He is also the recipient of multiple FMCSA safety awards recognizing his contributions to national transportation safety.
Today, Kevin consults across all sectors of the transportation industry, providing strategic guidance, compliance solutions, and expert witness services in litigation and regulatory matters through his consulting company, Spartan Transportation LLC.
