The Transportation Club of Jacksonville is honored to welcome U.S. Congressman John H. Rutherford as our featured speaker for the November luncheon.
Congressman Rutherford is currently serving his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he sits on the House Appropriations Committee—with assignments on the Homeland Security, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development subcommittees. He also serves on the House Ethics Committee.
A lifelong Jacksonville resident, Congressman Rutherford spent more than 40 years in law enforcement, culminating in three terms as Sheriff of Duval County, where he reduced violent crime to a 40-year low through intelligence-led and community-based policing. His leadership transformed the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office into a national model for innovation, crime prevention, and community partnership.
In Congress, John continues to advocate for strong national security, safer communities, and sound infrastructure investment—issues that impact our industry every day.
